"Begin today and write in it your goings and comings, your deepest thoughts, your achievements and your failures, your associations and your triumphs, your impressions and your testimonies. I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grand-children and others throughout the generations. Oh no, not more O's

This smiley little girl went 2 full weeks, both days and nights without needing any oxygen at all.  I still keep the monitor on her most of the time when we're out of the house and always at night when she's sleeping, and she had been doing so amazingly well, that it wouldn't ever beep.  I thought for sure she did it, that she finally kicked the oxygen all together......until 2 nights ago.....she was fine during the day, but then she started to de-sat in her sleep.  I gave her several minutes to recover, and she wasn't doing it.  I rubbed her stomach and repositioned her and tried to stimulate her and nothing seemed to be working :(  I had to put the oxygen back on her.  And she's needed it every night since then.  I keep racking my brain to think what has changed in the past few days that could be contributing to her increased need for help at night.....and I can't think of one single thing......I was talking to a friend about it the other day and she mentioned that baby might have allergies, and that could be the reason why....the pollen has been really high and people with allergies have been getting hit pretty hard.  At first I thought there's no way....because nobody else in our little family has allergies.  Then it hit me.  Everytime I take her out, she always sneezes....always!  She does it so much that it's kindof become second nature for Tala and the boys to say 'bless you' when she does it.  That's got to be it!  Poor little girl has allergies....at least that's my reasoning for her increased need for oxygen......she has her 9 month check-up next week and we'll see if I'm right!

If the only thing I'll have to deal with as a result of her being born 16 weeks early is allergies, asthma and the need to wear glasses....I'd say we're pretty lucky and blessed!  Way to go baby Katea, you're amazing!  Breathe baby breathe!  :)

Darn those allergies. I suffer from the pollen in the air as well. I sneeze constantly and it is no fun. I hope that she will bounce back. She is amazing. She is so cute. I just want to squeeze those little cheeks of hers. Love ya!
