"Begin today and write in it your goings and comings, your deepest thoughts, your achievements and your failures, your associations and your triumphs, your impressions and your testimonies. I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grand-children and others throughout the generations. Remember, the Savior chastised those who failed to record important events." --President Spencer W. Kimball

Another Milestone met...Yay!

Baby Katea reached another milestone......it's one that doesn't seem like it's a big deal, but it IS a big deal for a 24 weeker!  She started reaching and grabbing for toys and things hanging in front of her!  Yay!  That means slowly, but surely, her gross motor skills are catching up!

Reaching for toys is actually something that our Early Intervention physical therapist has been having us focus on.  She showed me several different exercises to do with her little arms, and I've been constantly hanging things in front of her and helping her hand reach for them, showing her the motions and hoping that one day she'd get the concept of it and understand that she can grab it herself.....after months of helping her do it, one day she finally did it on her own......HUGE milestone, and I think I even cried because I was so proud of her! :)

Her muscles in her arms still need to be strengthened because even though she's reaching, it's slow and she doesn't straighten her arms all the way.....but she reaches for things, with both hands....grabs and holds on tight, with both hands.....and we are so so proud of her!  Every little milestone she reaches, whether it be big or small is so AMAZING!  Good job baby girl, we love you and are SO proud of you!  :)  Who knows, at the rate she's going, she might be sitting up all by herself by her first birthday!

Such a BIG miracle in such a little girl!  :)
