Uma & No-no

Baby Katea had reached another milestone!  She's starting to talk more and more.  With the talking, you can see her little personality and it's so cute!  Her favorite words right now are uma and no-no.  Every morning we wake up to her climbing on us saying ummmmaaaaaaaa and kissing us on our cheeks.  It's the cutest thing.  She umas all day long, and she makes the uma sound where she drags the ending A out for a while. LOL.  If she gets into trouble and she knows it because we've told her no-no....like if she puts something in her mouth or touches something she know she shouldn't be touching, she'll crawl over to you and give you a big uma....and how can you stay upset after that?  Haha.  Ova and I laugh at how smart she is.  How she knows when she needs to uma and at how after she uma's you if she knows she's in trouble, she'll lay her head on you as if to hide or hug you.  She's too cute!

The second thing she's been saying lately is no-no.  And she does it with her finger in the air and all.  She understands and knows when she's supposed to use that word and she says it to her brothers all the time.  Hahaha.

Like I said before, she's amazing.  Every little bit of progress she makes is a huge celebration for us because we know and understand how amazing it is that she's even alive, let alone progressing and doing so well.  She's amazing.  Our little miracle.  We are blessed!

Fangupo Grandchild #20

Meet my beautiful niece....

Susana Fisi'ihone Fangupo
(Named after Suliana's mom)

Born February 12, 2013

7lbs. 5oz.
19 1/2 inches long
lots and lots of black hair

Suliana got admitted the afternoon of the 11th, and baby Susana took her sweet time to get here.  I was working graveyard shift that night and Sau kept texting me the updates.  He was so excited!  After a long labor, she was finally born the morning of the 12th.  Sau is in heaven.  His little princess is finally here!  She's so beautiful and practically perfect in every way!  She makes grandkid #20 for Ova's parents.  We're so excited that she's finally here and that she's part of our family.  Can't wait to see her grow up.  Sau's been saying since she was born that he can't believe she's here and that she's his.  Having kids can change you and make you a better person.  It definitely changes your perspective on life and your priorities.  You'll never be as proud, worried, tired, protective or emotional as you've ever been in your life when you become a parent.....but parenthood is such a blessing, it's what life is all about!  Parenthood has blessed my life greatly, and I'm so happy that Sau and Suliana are now in the club! :)

Happy Birthday Susana!

I was feeling crafty, and I got this subway art idea off pinterest, so I made her her own little birthdate keepsake, so she'll always remember her stats!  Love you baby Sana!

Vegas 2013

I had 5 days off of work and we have been long overdue for a vacation, so we decided to hit the road and head to Vegas.  Ova's little brother lives out there with his family and we thought it would be nice to spend some time with them.  We didn't have an agenda, nothing was planned....we just rented a van and started driving.  I would have loved to go to Hawaii or somewhere that was nice and warm...with sandy beaches....but we didn't really have time to plan for it, so we opted for the next closest warm spot, Vegas!  I was looking into booking a hotel, just so the kids could go swimming and stuff, but TiTonga wanted us to stay with them...and I'm so glad we did!

We didn't end up leaving until late so by the time we got to Vegas, it was 2am.  TiTonga and his boys were already asleep (Kiki was at work) but they left the door unlocked for us.  We went in and straight upstairs to sleep.  The next morning, we woke up to kids screaming and yelling to the top of their little lungs.  They were so happy to see each other!  That was a Friday and the Vegas boys had school.  Their dad took them to school while we all got ready to go eat breakfast at this little bar close by their house.  The food was so cheap, and so good....and the portions were pretty big!  After breakfast Kiki went home to sleep after working all night and our little family drove the strip.  We went shopping and just drove around.  At lunch, before we headed back to the house, we stopped at Bachi Burger.....
we saw it on the food network and really wanted to try it.  It was really good, but at $40 for 2 burgers and 2 fries....it's just a one time thing for us!  LOL  We headed back to the house and just kicked it in the living room talking and catching up with TiTonga and Kiki....and then Kiki had to get ready for work again that night.  We left all the kids with TiTonga and me and Ova went for a drive and shopping by ourselves.  Quality time.  By the time we got home, all the kids had eaten Church's chicken and were knocked out all over the house. haha.  Ova and I just got baby Katea and went to sleep.

The next morning, we got ready to go watch TiTonga's rugby game.  He plays for the BlackJacks in Vegas.  I was expecting it to be nice and warm and sunny, but it was FREEZING!  The wind was blowing hard and it was so cold.  I was surprised at how cold it was.  I was so worried about baby Katea getting sick because of the wind and how cold it was.  We ran into Felika Tahi at the rugby game, her hubby came down to play with them and Kiki and I pretty much just sat there chatting it up with her instead of watching the game. LOL. She wrapped baby Katea up in her big blanket and held her tight the whole time....I'm sure that's the only reason she didn't get sick!

Lautala all bundled up with her hello kitty shades, watching uncle TiTonga play rugby!

After the game, we went to another spot that was featured on the food network, Hash House a Go-Go.  I'd heard the rave about this place, and wanted to try it out.  Let me just tell you, it was sooooo good!  The prices are reasonable and their portions are HUGE!

I got the Chicken pot pie....which was really good!
But TiTonga let us taste his meatloaf and that was my favorite!!  I'm definitely getting that the next time we go there!  Yummers!

By the time we were done with dinner, it was really late.  We had left all the kids at the house so we thought we'd better hurry and get back.  We drove down the strip on the way back to the house and TiTonga was telling us about all the buildings he had a part in building and the stories behind some of the ones that were still under construction.  The Vegas strip is amazing....all the bright lights....city that never sleeps!

We stayed up pretty much all night just talking and visiting.  Kiki's parents drove down with some of their grandkids and Kiki's bff Crystal flew in that night....they had a full house....and we all stayed up talking politics, and whatever else came up.  We slept in the next day because we had stayed up so late talking, that when we got up we just packed and got ready to leave.  It was a nice little break, just what we needed and my boys were in heaven with their Vegas cousins!  Love our family!

We left their house at like 4pm, but we didn't actually leave Vegas until about 9 or 10pm.  We did a little more shopping, stopped and ate at Jack in the Box and crusied the strip again with our kids.  We were in no rush, so we just took our time and enjoyed the last few moments of our little get-away.  It was a great trip.  I'm so glad we took it!

Our fab 4 at Jack In the Box waiting for their food!

Thank you Vegas Fangupos for everything!  We love you guys!

Monster Jam 2013

I got some discount tickets to the Monster Jam that came into town.....we'd never been to anything like that before, so I asked Ova if we could take the kids.  We thought the boys would enjoy that, so we made a family day out of it!

It was at the Energy Solutions Arena and it was a lot of fun!  Just the thing I knew my boys would love!  Big monster trucks running over and smashing cars and throwing dirt everywhere!  My boys were having so much fun, all my boys, even Ova! :)  It was super loud in the arena.....so loud that they were actually passing out ear plugs when we got there.   There were some people who brought big old ear muffs to cover their ears....we were unprepared, so we just used the little ones that go inside your ears. LOL  Lautala was scared to death....every time they would rev up their engines, she would cringe and squeeze my hand.....she didn't let go of my hand the whole time we were there, until she got her big old buckey of popcorn LOL.  She probably would have been fine not going with us, because it was totally more of a boy thing.... but I wanted her to come! LOL

They had four wheelers and dirt bikes that raced around the track several times, and then during their free style, they used these ramps to fly through the air, and they did flips and stunts....it was so cool!  The monster trucks were competeing with each other for who could jump the farthest and highest, and during their free style, it was who was the most entertaining!  Gramma Tea bought them a monster truck for Christmas a couple years ago, the Grave Digger, and they love that truck, they used to sit on it and drive it all over the house!  They, of course, were cheering for Grave Digger to win....and they were so happy when it did!

It was a lot of fun, and a nice way to spend some quality time with our kids!

After the Monster Jam, we decided we wanted to go watch a movie.  We went to the affordable theatre on Redwood and 90th and watched The Hobbit.  That was a bad idea!  Everyone, except me and Mone slept through the whole thing. Haha!  It had been a LONG day and going to a long movie wasn't smart hahaha!  I had to keep waking Ova up because he started snoring too loud LOL.  I went and bought popcorn so they could try and stay awake, but they woke up to eat some and then went right back to sleep. hahaha.

After the movies, everyone was hungry so we decided to head to one of our most favorite places to eat, HoHo's.  It's a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant in downtown Salt Lake and it is the bomb!  The food is so delicious, I haven't tasted anything there that I don't like!  It's so good!  We ordered our food and pigged out.  Everything was so delicious!  There was tons of food left over so we took it home for Tea, Ma and Ashlee to eat.

Waiting for our food to come, we decided to take some pictures LOL

It was a great day, a long full day spent with our family.  I'm so glad we take these opportunities to do things with our kids.  I know it's not necessary to spend lots of money, but every once in a while when the opportunity presents itself and you have the resources, I say why not?  There's noone I'd rather spend my time and money on!  :)  I'm so blessed!  Love my little family!

I really wanted to take baby Katea too, but it was so cold and I didn't want to risk taking her to a place where I knew there would be tons of people.  I ended up being really glad I left her at home because there was so much dust and dirt in the air from the monster trucks, and it was freezing cold!  Someday really soon, her little lungs will strengthen enough that she'll be able to go everywhere and do everything with us.  For now, I'm so grateful for Gramma Tea who is always more than willing to take care of her little namesake so we can take our other kids out.  Like I said, BLESSED!
