Auntie Leka
So Leka is my first cousin named after my mom. She came to the US when my grandparents passed away 2 years ago and stayed here with my parents. We love Leka! She's such a good Auntie to all the neices and nephews, and a good helper to my mom and dad. She's way talented and is always teaching dancing and braiding hair... we went down to my parent's house the other day and watched her braid my cousin McAbe's hair and it was SOOOOOO nice, so I asked her to try and braid Mone's hair. With him being only 2 years old I wondered how it would turn out because, let's face it.... 2 year olds just don't sit still that long.... but we were all pleasantly surprised. All we had to do was give him some candy and he sat still the whole time.... it turned out so nice and Mone loved how he looked so we'll probably be doing it more often.... here are some pictures of the first time he got his hair braided..... THANKS LEKA!!!

Memorial Day.....Mom's Birthday.....
It was my mom's birthday on the 23rd, but since my mom and dad were busy all day that day, we decided to all get together on Monday to celebrate Memorial Day and Mom's birthday. We did what we always do....eat eat eat and watch the kids play on grampa's bikes... this time Uncle Daniel brought his 4-wheeler.... the kids have so much fun on that. He spends the whole night riding around with all the kids, making them take turns. He's the fun uncle, and all the kids know it! My dad stood at the bbq and made WAY TOO MUCH food for how many of us there were...but it was all good, we had a good time! The only thing that sucks about our little family get-togethers at my mom and dad's is the darn flies and mosquitos....since they live on the lake's shore...there are TONS and TONS of them.... almost enought to ruin the bbq, but we had to stand watch over the food with a paper plate swatting all the bugs away....they definetly need to invest in those bug killer things! But it was so nice to be with the family again!

Mom's birthday cake....we all thought it was so funny that my dad got a cake and had them write Cindy instead of Mom or Gramma..... we were teasing him and he just said... "hey, that's her name..." hahaha

And here are some random pictures from that day....
As you can tell, Mone is in the majority of the pictures...that would be because he follows me around when I'm taking pictures and says "cheese, mom take a picture of me..." He loves the camera!

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope all you Mother's out there had a very happy Mother's Day this past Sunday! Even though I had to work, I still had a great day! On Saturday night, my sisters and I took my mom out. We all went and got manicure's and pedicure's, went out and ate at Cafe Rio, and we were gonna watch a movie, but instead we just went and kicked it at my older sister's house. It was so nice to spend some quality time with my mom and sisters. On Sunday, I had to work in the morning so I didn't get to go to church, but when I got home, we had our annual Mother's Day feast at the in-laws. It was so nice to have Auntie Namu here from Frisco, Maze from Arizona, and Manusina from New Zealand... we just ate and talked all night long, and enjoyed each other's company. There was tons of food there, but I just focused on the JUMBO King crab legs. I don't think I've ever seen crab legs that big...they were so delicious!
This Mother's Day was extra special for my little family because we got some awesome news.... I have been feeling a little weird lately, not really sick, but different so I thought I'd take a pregnancy test just to see.....

I went to Walmart and bought the 2-pack...the first one had a two lines, but the test line was super duper light...so I'm thinking it's really a negative. I take the 2nd test and the line was a little bit darker, but still light. I read the instructions and it said that if there is any line at all, then it's positive. I was so excited, but still a little skeptical so on Friday morning, I dropped Makai off at school, I went to the doctor to get another test. POSITIVE! I was so happy! This is probably 1 1/2 years of trying, so we couldn't be more happy! My estimated due date is January 7th, 2010!!!!

I finally got my camera back!!!
Ok, so I totally dropped my Nikon DX40 like a month ago and totally shattered the lens. I was totally bummed about it since I always take my camera with me. Thank goodness for the warranty (which I almost didn't buy) because they just replaced my camera for a new one for FREE. I'm SOOOOO glad I that after much debating, I opted to get the coverage. Now I'll be back to snapping photo's of every little thing!!!

No More Diapers.... YAY!!!
So Mone's been showing us all the signs that he's finally ready to be potty trained, like taking off his diaper after he goes and asking a lot of questions about the toilet... so we decided he's probably ready to be trained. I went to WalMart and bought him a pack of underwear and when I brought them home, he was so excited... his older brother was such a good helper and I just think it's so cute when Makai claps and cheers him on when he actually goes in the toilet. It took a lot longer for Mone to get the hang of it than Makai, that's for sure, Makai was unusually easy to train. He asked us if he could go pee-pee in the toilet and from that day on we bought him underwear and he NEVER once had an accident. He wanted to do it, and he never wore diapers after that. Mone, not so much. I was scared that he would have an accident overnight so I still put a diaper on him while he was sleeping...and it was funny because he would wake up in the morning and get mad that he didn't have his underwear on.I bought him one of those little kids toilets (which I totally hate because you have to dump it and clean it after he uses it...) but luckily he didn't really like it, so we decided to just let him use it as a stepping stool to reach the big toilet. After about a week and 6+ underwear in the garbage (because I wasn't about to wash it if he went #2) he's finally 100% potty trained!!! Just in time too because I just ran out of my coupon diapers!!

So cute..
So we've been going to the rec center to swim a few times a week...it's good exercise for Ova and it's fun family time for us and our boys. We went yesterday when I got off work and Mone is FINALLY not scared...I think he went under the water the first time we went swimming and he has been scared to death ever since then. Slowly he's been trying to be a little more daring, letting go of us and walking into the middle by himself...today he was extra brave...maybe TOO brave because he had me chasing him all over the kiddie pool. He was jumping off this sides and going down the slide. I'm happy he's not scared anymore... I sure do have little water babies. NEways, there was a group of handicap people who came swimming they were all over the pool and their caretaker was telling me they were supposed to be "exercising" not playing. I bought one of those water balls that you can throw around and was playing catch with Filimone. One of the ladies kept standing there stareing at Mone and laughing when he would try to catch the ball. And what happened next was so cute, it almost made me cry. Mone totally turned away from me and threw the ball to the lady. She was SOOOO happy, she had the biggest smile on her face as she picked up the ball to throw it back to him. I kinda slid away and sat on the edge just watching them. He saw that she was watching and started playing catch with her. After a while, it was time for us to go and I told Mone to tell her goodbye. He just waved and let her keep the ball. After we went and took a shower and got dressed, we were walking out through the lobby and we saw the lady standing there. I just walked by and smiled and Mone said "Bye friend" and waved at her as we walked out the door. I just thought it was so touching that a 2 year old would understand that she was special. I mean, he wouldn't share the ball with any of the other kids in the pool, but it was his idea to share it with her....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAMMA TEA!!!
Tea turned 51 on April 24th, 2009. I can't believe it's been a year already since all us Fangupo girls went to Vegas for her SURPRISE 50th. Another year has passed and it's going to be impossible for us to top the birthday bash we did for Tea last year, but we still made it her special day. We spent the whole day with our little family. Ova and I finished the paper route at about 6:30am and came straight home and woke everybody up. We all went to JB's for breakfast. We came home and just lounged for a few hours and then Tea and I went coupon shopping (that's what she wanted to do on her birthday....she's a die hard) then we came home and we all went to Chuck-A-Rama for dinner. It was so nice to be able to spend the entire day with our family, and Ma was so happy to get out of the house...
I'm so grateful for Tea and everything she does for me, my husband and especially my kids. I'm so spoiled to have her living with us and I don't know what we'd do without her. Thank you so much for everything Tea, We love you very much and hope you had a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

SkyWest Happenings...
Okay, our management has been telling us for a few weeks that there were going to be some changes coming to SLC, but they told us it wouldn't be that big of a deal, that we would be okay...well, when I was in Paris, the announcement was made. Delta is taking over the entire B concourse customer service and ramp, and SkyWest was going to lay off 300+ people. I remember going through customs after getting off the plane and the customs guy said "so do you still have your job?" I said, what do you mean? He said "oh, SkyWest is laying off half of their work force"... "good luck with that" and that was the first I heard of anything. Sure enough it was all over the news... indeed Delta was taking over and we were laying off. The past few weeks have been so crazy. They demoted all leadership positions and made us reapply. They were cutting the managers in half and only keeping 15 out of the 24 supervisors. That was a little crazy, having to reapply for a job you've been doing for years... and none of us understood why we had to do it. The airline industry runs on seniority, and it would have made more sense for them to do it that way, but they didn't. They ended up laying off like 200+ people from the ramp and about 25 from inside. And then they forced a lot of people to go part time. All this takes effect on May 15th. I was demoted from manager to supervisor, but I'm so glad to still have a job. The economy sucks right now with a lot of companies laying off... so I'm very grateful that I still have my job. The thing I can't picture is having 208 flights going out of the E concourse...that means we're gonna be boarding 3-4 flights at the same time from that little basement in the airport. It'll be very interesting to see how things turn out.

Happy Birthday Grampa Makai!!!
So it was my dad's birthday and we all got together to go down and have a bbq with him. That's like his favorite thing in the world to do (I won't say he's the best bbq'er because, HELLO I'm married to a Fangupo) but my dad loves to bbq. And to be able to bbq with all his grandkids, he was in heaven. He's got 11 grandkids...almost 12 and he loves all of them to death...he's so cute with all of them, always getting down to their level, playing with them and rolling around on the ground. All the kids just LOVE grampa Makai. His bbq birthday bash was just another time for them to get together to have fun with grandpa. Here are some photos of his special day...

My dad is a very special man, always making time for his calling, his family, and anyone else who needs him. He's got the biggest heart of any man I know and I'm so grateful for him. I'm glad we all took time to go down and spend his special day with him. Happy Birthday dad! We love you!
