Happy Birthday Grampa Makai!!!

So it was my dad's birthday and we all got together to go down and have a bbq with him. That's like his favorite thing in the world to do (I won't say he's the best bbq'er because, HELLO I'm married to a Fangupo) but my dad loves to bbq. And to be able to bbq with all his grandkids, he was in heaven. He's got 11 grandkids...almost 12 and he loves all of them to death...he's so cute with all of them, always getting down to their level, playing with them and rolling around on the ground. All the kids just LOVE grampa Makai. His bbq birthday bash was just another time for them to get together to have fun with grandpa. Here are some photos of his special day...

My dad is a very special man, always making time for his calling, his family, and anyone else who needs him. He's got the biggest heart of any man I know and I'm so grateful for him. I'm glad we all took time to go down and spend his special day with him. Happy Birthday dad! We love you!

Future Fangupo Photographers

Ok, so I always have my camera with me and it never fails that everytime I'm snapping some photos, Makai says "mom, can I take a picture?" I always tell him no because I don't want him to drop or break the camera...well, this time was no different. We were all at grandma and grandpa's house and he kept asking me if he could take some pictures... I said no, and he said "I promise I won't break it, please just let me try it" I gave in and handed him the camera explaining to him what he had to do (which he was very annoyed with because supposedly he already knew how to work a camera) He started snapping shots of all of us there, and of course that started the uproar of all the kids begging for a turn... I told Makai he had to share and they passed the camera around. Everyone took turns taking pictures of whatever they wanted, and they all felt so cool. I was actually surprised at how centered the majority of the pictures were... for kids, they did a really good job!I've put a few of them together as the Future Fangupo Photograpers slide show.... hope you enjoy!!

Fangupo Family Christmas 2009

We always get together on the holidays, and this year we wanted to do something a little different, we focused more on the kids...which was such a good idea! Thanks to Toa and Kiki's wonderful ideas, the kids had a blast, and made tons of good memories. Toa baked some sugar cookies shaped like jingle bells and I mixed several different colors of frosting. While we were preparing the cookies, Kiki and Siosiana split the kids into groups and decorated gingerbread houses. It was so fun to see all the kids being so creative. After the houses were done, they all got a couples cookies and butter knives and decorated their own cookies. I think little Siope was the funniest because he kind of just kept the green frosting to himself and was eating it out of the bowl instead of decorating his cookie...all the kids had so much fun and I got some good pictures of the Fangupo kids!!!

Beautiful Cancun Mexico

In February 2008 we took another family vacation to Cancun, Mexico. It was so nice and clean and warm! It was actually one of the cheapest vacations we've taken because we found a nice all inclusive resort for like $69 a night (kids were free) and it included all the food and drinks and activities. I think we're a bunch of beach bums because we always go towards the warm sun and the sandy beaches. We stayed at the hotel Flamingo which was right across the street from Margaritaville....they were bumpin their music all night long! The views were amazing! Cancun is a little strip of island so you have a perfect view of the beach and ocean from anywhere you are. We took a million pictures, but I just put a few of them in these two collages so you can get a taste of our trip to Cancun. The pictures on the top are from when we took a little boat ride to the isla de mujeres, it was just a little island off of Cancun that was surrounded by white sandy beaches. The top left corner was the view of the beach from our room....if you are pondering on a vacation spot.....we HIGHLY recommend this spot! It gets a 10!

Having fun in the snow....

All the Fangupo Family was here in January for Grandma's 85th birthday, so we thought we'd all go sledding. It's kinda a tradition that we have. We had a lot of fun....it ended up being SLC vs. The Bay.....we won of course! hahaha!

Ova and Mone are in the top left corner, Pisila-Joey-Makai in the top middle, Siosiana and Aden in the top right, me and my fatso in the middle left, Siosi-Ova-Mond-Aden-La'au in the middle, Mosese in the middle right, Pisila in the bottom left, Siosi and Kina leka laughing at poor Alisi who slipped on the ice and feel flat on her face, and a group picture of the Fangupo men in the bottom right!! What a fun day!

H*A*W*A*I*I

We took a little family trip to Hawaii this past December. We actually were planning on going to Cabo, but when we got to the airport, they wouldn't let me travel because my passport was in my maiden name. We were pretty bummed, but since we were already at the airport, we decided to just go to Hawaii instead (that's the luxury of working for the airlines....you can just jump on a plane to wherever you want :-) We were only there for like 3 days, but we had so much fun! We spent the whole time eating and playing at the beach...isn't that the best way to vacation! Here is a collage of pictures I put together so you can see how much fun we had!! We love our little family vacations!
