So sad...

It's been a crazy crazy weekend with my brothers wedding and all....I've got about 5 posts in the making (don't want to publish them until I can put my pictures up) but I wanted to write about this:

My computer is DEAD   :(

I got a call early this morning from Ron Moleni and I was honestly praying for good news.  But it wasn't.  He said that he had been trying all week long to fix my computer and it just wasn't working.  Not only is my hard-drive corrupt, but it's fried.  He doesn't know why, but I'm guessing that they just built it wrong since it's not even a year old.  He wasn't able to save my pictures....which I must admit I did cry about for a couple minutes this morning...all the baby pictures of Makai and Mone...gone.....he said if I buy a new hard-drive he can reinstall it and my computer will be as good as new.  I know this is totally my fault for not backing up my information, I for sure will never let this happen again!!!

He did tell me that there are some places like recovery service places that might be able to save my stuff....but it's pretty pricey and I'd have to call them to get a quote.....he said he thought it could be up to $800 because they have to open the hard-drive in a dark room to try and retreive the info.  So sad.  I'm gonna just have to suck it up and always remember from now on to backup my stuff!  At least my hard-drive has a 3 year warranty, and since I just got the computer last year, I can send it in and they'll send me a new one for free......don't know how long it will take, but sounds like that's what we gotta do.  Boo-hoo.

OMGoodness Monica, I just went through the exact same thing. My computer is only 2 years old and I had to get it fixed twice already. My hard drive was fried as well and I did have a warranty also. I learned the first time that this happend to me to always back things up. But when my computer went down, I didn't back up stuff for a week, so my husband kindly paid $106 to get my stuff backed up at Best Buy. I know this isn't the time of year to be paying out that much money, but it was worth it to me. Hopefully that helps. Sorry, I know exactly how you feel!
