Future Fangupo Photographers

Ok, so I always have my camera with me and it never fails that everytime I'm snapping some photos, Makai says "mom, can I take a picture?" I always tell him no because I don't want him to drop or break the camera...well, this time was no different. We were all at grandma and grandpa's house and he kept asking me if he could take some pictures... I said no, and he said "I promise I won't break it, please just let me try it" I gave in and handed him the camera explaining to him what he had to do (which he was very annoyed with because supposedly he already knew how to work a camera) He started snapping shots of all of us there, and of course that started the uproar of all the kids begging for a turn... I told Makai he had to share and they passed the camera around. Everyone took turns taking pictures of whatever they wanted, and they all felt so cool. I was actually surprised at how centered the majority of the pictures were... for kids, they did a really good job!I've put a few of them together as the Future Fangupo Photograpers slide show.... hope you enjoy!!

Fangupo Family Christmas 2009

We always get together on the holidays, and this year we wanted to do something a little different, we focused more on the kids...which was such a good idea! Thanks to Toa and Kiki's wonderful ideas, the kids had a blast, and made tons of good memories. Toa baked some sugar cookies shaped like jingle bells and I mixed several different colors of frosting. While we were preparing the cookies, Kiki and Siosiana split the kids into groups and decorated gingerbread houses. It was so fun to see all the kids being so creative. After the houses were done, they all got a couples cookies and butter knives and decorated their own cookies. I think little Siope was the funniest because he kind of just kept the green frosting to himself and was eating it out of the bowl instead of decorating his cookie...all the kids had so much fun and I got some good pictures of the Fangupo kids!!!

Tea's 50th SURPRISE in Vegas!!!

So Tea turned 50 this past April 24th, and we got her so good! It's always been her dream to go to Vegas with her sisters, she's been saying that forever....so Li and I just thought we'd make her dream come true. It was perfect! All her sisters were there, plus her neices, and in-law neices....it was such a nice get-away weekend for the Fangupo ladies! No husbands and no kids! True that we had to lie like crazy up until the day of, but it was so worth it! I told her that I was taking her to Vegas for one day to eat buffet and go shopping. I'm sure she thought it was so weird that it was going to be just me and her....but she had no idea that it was actually everyone. Namu and Li flew in from San Francisco, Auntie Toa flew all the way from New Zealand, Pisila Alisi and Tina flew from here, Toa and her family drove down and Kiki lives there. They all got there before Tea and I even left SLC. They prepared the hotel, the cake, her gifts and they had the front desk in on it. As soon as our plane landed in Las Vegas, I started texting Li. It was so funny because Tea kept asking me who I was texting and I totally lied and said that Ova was bugging me, but really it was all the ladies at the hotel. We took a taxi, and the whole time she was telling me how she wishes her sisters were there. I told her that I wanted them to come, but nobody had money...hahaha. We pulled up to the hotel and walked in the lobby. It was so funny because the facial expressions of the desk clerk should have totally given it away...but Tea still had no idea. I was telling her as we were walking up that she needed to thank Ana Lopi for the room because she hooked us up! We got upstairs and I put the card in the door and pushed her in as I was looking for the light. Everyone screamed "SURPRISE...HAPPY BIRTHDAY," Tea of course couldn't stop crying....it was the best surprise ever! Here's some pictures of our fun Fangupo ladies weekend.....

Beautiful Cancun Mexico

In February 2008 we took another family vacation to Cancun, Mexico. It was so nice and clean and warm! It was actually one of the cheapest vacations we've taken because we found a nice all inclusive resort for like $69 a night (kids were free) and it included all the food and drinks and activities. I think we're a bunch of beach bums because we always go towards the warm sun and the sandy beaches. We stayed at the hotel Flamingo which was right across the street from Margaritaville....they were bumpin their music all night long! The views were amazing! Cancun is a little strip of island so you have a perfect view of the beach and ocean from anywhere you are. We took a million pictures, but I just put a few of them in these two collages so you can get a taste of our trip to Cancun. The pictures on the top are from when we took a little boat ride to the isla de mujeres, it was just a little island off of Cancun that was surrounded by white sandy beaches. The top left corner was the view of the beach from our room....if you are pondering on a vacation spot.....we HIGHLY recommend this spot! It gets a 10!
