"Begin today and write in it your goings and comings, your deepest thoughts, your achievements and your failures, your associations and your triumphs, your impressions and your testimonies. I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grand-children and others throughout the generations. Remember, the Savior chastised those who failed to record important events." --President Spencer W. Kimball

Happy 7th Son...

Our oldest son Makai........turned 7 years old on July 16th......his birthday happened to fall on the same week that Ova and I were in Tonga, so we missed it.  I'm so extremely greatful and blessed to have such wonderful family around that made him feel super duper special on his special day.  He woke up to have all his cousins on the Makai side here bright and early for breakfast.  Tea decorated the house for him and cooked him the biggest breakfast with everything you could think of.  He sat around the table eating breakfast with his cousins, his aunties and his gramma.  He didn't even notice we weren't there.  We happened to leave Tonga on Saturday morning, July 17th.... but since we were a day ahead of home we landed in Auckland on the 16th.  As soon as we got off the plane we called home.  I told Ova to hand me the phone so I could sing 'Happy Birthday' to him..... Ova handed me the phone and the only thing I could get out was a very crackly Happy Birthday to you.... I couldn't even finish the whole song.  Ova took the phone back from me and wished him a happy birthday..... I sat and cried for a good half hour, partly because I missed him and we weren't there for his special day....and partly because I can't believe he's already 7 years old.  Makai is a very special kid and I love him so much.  I'm very blessed to have him as my oldest because he's patient, kind, he loves his younger siblings, he has the biggest heart and helps out so much around the house.  I can't believe it's already been 7 years since I had him..... time flies too fast!!
After they ate their breakfast, he got to open all the presents from his cousins.....he was definetly spoiled!  All he wanted for his birthday was to go with his cousins to watch Toy Story 3..... that was Gramma Tea's treat to him.....a day out with the cousins to the movies.
I am so blessed and so greatful to have such wonderful family, and I'm so greatful to them for making Makai's 7th birthday so special!  Here are some pictures my sister Marie took w/ her camera phone......
