I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grand-children and others throughout the generations. Remember, the Savior chastised those who failed to record important events." --President Spencer W. Kimball

Thank you for your thoughtfulness!!!

This post is for Melissa Snyder and Weston Griffeth. Ova and I just wanted to say thank you so much for your love and concern. Thank you for the beautiful get well flowers, and for always being so concerned with Ova's health, you are so sweet and we can't thank you enough!

For those of you who don't know Ova's situation, he had been really sick lately. He was diagnosed with Lupus about a year ago and it seems to progressively be getting worse. When he has his attacks, he can't walk or even move for days...sometimes weeks. It's been a real struggle trying to figure out what causes his attacks so we can prevent them, and trying to figure out how to get rid of it when it is here. I feel bad for him because he's in so much pain, and I can't do anything about it. I took him to a kensiologist who is a doctor that studies the body in depth and believes that if the mental, structural, and chemical parts of the body are in balance, then you will be healthy. If one of those things are off, that's what causes you to be sick. He told us that Ova's spleen is not working like it should, and the function of the spleen is to circulate the blood and clean the system. Since it's not doing it's job, his liver and kidneys are being overworked and his blood is full of toxins. They gave him some herbal medicine to see if it would help. So far, it hasn't done anything. I'm just really thankful to everyone who cares and shows their love and concern for him. Thank you very much!

Hey Monica,
I love ya too! I am glad that the flowers finally got to you. It took them quite a while to get it figured out. You cute Filamone's hair! He looks so grown up! What handsome boys! They grow so fast!

Hope he's doing better! I can't believe he was diagnosed over a year ago. Me and Ti Tonga just barely found out he had lupus.

Hi Monica and Ova! This is Fo'ou and Ryan just coming through to show some love to my cousin Ova! My husband and I are so out of the loop, we hibernate in Bountiful and hardly get involved with the Tongan community so this is news for me about Ova's health. I know he was sick but I honestly thought it wasn't as severe. I haven't seen you guys in forever! My Mom, sister and I attended Pres. Hadfield's funeral services here in Brigham City and we came looking for you afterwards but couldn't find you. We were hoping to see Ova and your kids too.

Monica, I'm not going to say sorry that you're going through this because I would feel like I'm pitying on you which I'm not. I can't say how awful it must be because I don't know what you're feeling but I do want to tell you what a courageous woman I think you are to handle this trial. Trials only make us stronger people and I know Heavenly Father hears your prayers. He will not forsake you as a mother and a wife. When I read your blog, I just cried because you are much stronger than I would be. Heavenly Father knew you could handle it better than I would. I admire you so much Monica for your patience and continual love for your husband! You are an elect woman with great courage and faith. We love you guys and please let us know if there's anything we can do to help make this easier for you. I don't have much but I'll try. You guys are in our prayers!! Love you guys! Fo'ou & Ryan.

MONICA!!!

I found you off of Fo'ou's blog! How are you?????? I had no idea that you were even struggling with this! (not that I EVER know what's going on with you. lol.) I'm so sad for you and your family as Ova struggles with this disease. I know Jared's cousin, Tia has Lupus also and it can really be a challenge. We pray for you and your family and hope that all will go well. I'm glad I found you on here... now I'll be back in the loop with you and yours.

LOVE YOU!!!

Monica, I stumbled across your blog and just caught this post. I'm sorry to hear about Ova's health. I wanted to comment, because my Mom has Lupus, and it's been such a mystery for the doctors. It reality it took nearly 20 years for them to diagnose from her first flare up. I know that every case is individual, but for my Mom... Stress is the biggest trigger, the sun comes a close second, and sugar. When she has a flare up, she has to rest and thats the best thing. Our prayers are with you! Take good care!!
