"Begin today and write in it your goings and comings, your deepest thoughts, your achievements and your failures, your associations and your triumphs, your impressions and your testimonies. I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to you, each other, your children, your grand-children and others throughout the generations. Remember, the Savior chastised those who failed to record important events." --President Spencer W. Kimball

Beautiful Jalen

I can't believe how fast all the kids are growing up.  My neice Jalen turned 8 and got baptized this past month.  My older sister Leslie and her husband started this tradition with their family, and I LOVE their idea....so I think Ova and I are gonna copy the tradition for our kids.  Their tradition is that they let their kids, for their 8th birthday and baptism pick where they want to go as a family to celebrate....Jalen picked to go to Disneyland for her special day.  Since they'd known about it for a while they were able to save up and get time off work.  The week of her baptism rolled around and the program was beautiful.  My whole entire family is a bunch of cry babies so of course all us girls were crying through the whole program....but hey, we're so proud of her!  For her program she wanted her Grammas to give the talks and her cousins to sing the songs.  It was so nice!  She's such a beautiful little girl and a good helper to her mom and a good example to her little brother, sisters and cousins.  After the program we took some pictures with the special girl and then Grampa Makai took us all to Chuck-A-Rama.  They ate quick because they had to run home and get their things.....they were on their way to California to the Happiest Place on Earth for a whole entire week!!  Thanks for being such a good example Jalen, we love you pretty girl!!
